Alliance are the Epic League Division 2 Champions

Epic League is bound to wrap up today, and before the big battle between OG and Virtus.pro in Division 1 grand finals, Alliance and Live to Win fought neck and neck for supremacy in Division 2.

Alliance’s journey at Epic League started in Division1, however, a few too many losses in the group stage relegated them and the playoffs in Division 2 were set to become a redemption story. They started in the lower bracket where they cut through Winstrike, Just Error, Spider Pigzs and Gambit Esports. Per tournament format, they also had to play two best-of-five series on the final two days and after Gambit’s incredible resilience forced Alliance to play all five games of the lower bracket finals on Saturday, Live to Win did the same in the grand finals, as they started the series very focused and took a 2-1 lead on the back of proven heroes in this meta, such as Sven and Spectre, picked in the same draft, or the powerful combo of Faceless Void-Snapfire played core.

However, the rather greedy Live to Win drafts were eventually figured out by Alliance and countered in the last two games of the series.

Alliance forced the decisive game five by surprising the opposition with a mid lane Mirana for Linus “Limmp” Blomdin, who was the winning factor for the Swedish organization. He made the difference in the last game of the evening as well by crushing the mid lane on Razor and forcing LtW to fight way earlier than their Lifestealer – Sven duo core would have wanted to. The final match of the evening ended in just 22 minutes with Alliance leading on the killboard 11 to 1.
