Evil Geniuses are the BTS Pro Series Americas champions

Evil Geniuses defeated Quincy Crew 3-1 to claim the first place in the BTS Pro Series: Americas. The NA team, who were playing with two standins in the form of Eric ‘Ryoya’ Dong and their coach Sam ‘Bulba’ Sosale, seemed to put thier past performances from the tournament behind them as they dominated Quincy Crew. EG will take home $21,000 while Quincy Crew grow richer by $11,000. The third place was claimed by South American side Thunder Predator.

Quincy Crew won the first game in comfortable fashion, but Evil Geniuses came back strong in the next three to make it look like a comfortable victory. After the first game loss, it might have seemed EG were on the way to a loss because of their previous showings against Quincy Crew. Quincy Crew beat EG 2-0 in the group stages and then 2-0 again in the upper bracket finals! Not only were they looking like the stronger team going into the grand finals, they also had a mental edge over edge over EG. But as they say, when the going gets tough, the tought get going. EG saved their best Dota for the end and Quincy Crew didn’t stand a chance.

Evil Geniuses did try out some experimental drafts in the grand finals with Arteezy playing Clinkz, Riki, Leshrac and Slardar in the four games – not the heroes you’d necessarily guess him being on. But being the strongest team in the region, you do have the liberty to experiment a bit.
