Execration and EHOME.Immortal move forward at OMEGA League: Asia Divine Division
OMEGA League: Asia Divine Division continued today with two
lower bracket elimination series as only four teams would remain in the event
by the end of the day’s action.
Yesterday saw Aster.Aries drop their first series in OMEGA
League: Asia Divine Division as Neon Esports pummeled them into the lower
bracket – registering a 16-minute game one as the Chinese squad had no answer
to their aggression. Their opponent today would be Execration as both teams
fought for their tournament lives. Although Aster.Aries had been unbeaten in
the group stages of the event, and were going up against a team which struggled
in the early stages of the tournament, they did not register a single victory
when it came to the playoffs.
Having come through the Open Qualifiers, Execration were
able to continue their tournament in the lower bracket, taking down their third
directly invited team in succession – Team Blaze and Reality Rift being the
first two. With that, they moved themselves into the top four of OMEGA League:
Asia Divine Division, with their next lower bracket opponent being decided in
the next series.
EHOME.Immortal were one of two teams that were directly
invited to the event remaining, with the rest being those from Open qualifiers.
Alongside this, they were also one of two remaining Chinese teams in the event –
with the other being their opponent today, For The Dream. When last the two
teams met in the group stage, it was FtD who took a fantastic 2-0 victory, but
this time it would be much closer as EHOME.Immortal found a strong game one win
before FtD tied things up and took us to a decisive game three.
Although EHOME.Immortal seemed to be down and out after a
poor group stage run, they redeemed themselves today as the final game was near
perfect from the squad. By the half hour mark, they held a 30,000 net worth
lead and a few minutes later the GG call came from their opponent. With that,
For The Dream are eliminated from OMEGA League: Asia Divine Division, leaving
only four teams now to battle for the prize pool of $40,000.
Tomorrow will see more action from the event as Execration
and EHOME.Immortal battle for their tournament lives followed by the upper
bracket final between 496 Gaming and Neon Esports.
