Garena Unveils Free Fire International Competitive Plans for 2021

Free Fire publisher Garena revealed plans for the international competitive calendar of the game for 2021 in a new YouTube video this week. The main highlight was the announcement that the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) will return. FFWS was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and left a gap to be filled by the Free Fire Continental Series.

Two World Series are set to be organized throughout 2021, with the first taking place April 24 – May 1 in Asia, and the second in November in a still unknown venue. The announcement also hints at another international tournament to be held in July, the Free Fire All Stars featuring top pro players and influencers.

Bangladesh, Cambodia, and the Philippines will be added as competitive regions, totaling 16 regions in the official Free Fire esports scene. The announcement also highlights the audience numbers reached by Free Fire in 2020, plus the new branding of the World Series. You can check the video out here.
