Meta4Pro withdraw from Dota Pro Circuit after suspecting a player of their own for match fixing

At the beginning of week five in the first season of six-week Dota Pro Circuit Regional Leagues, Meta4Pro forfeited their spot in Europe Lower Division due to possible involvement in match-fixing of one of their players.

“This decision was made after the last two meetings with the Hippomaniacs and burjui teams. We have reason to believe that some players were not playing fair and may have been involved in 322 stories. We do not want to name specific names and nicknames now, as there is no 100% confirmation from the commission that this is really the case,” said Meta4Pro.

The team informed ESL gaming officials and together with the tournament organizers will conduct a further investigation. According to the ESL Gaming official announcement, Valve and Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) have been informed by the situation and are already investigating the case.

“The competitive integrity of our tournaments is our highest priority, and we encourage all players and teams to work with us on creating a clean and reliable competitive environment. Once ESIC’s and our investigation is completed, we will update the Dota community on its outcome,” said ESL Gaming.

All Meta4Pro games left on the League schedule have been canceled and the team got eliminated with 0-7 series score. They become the first team to leave the competition, however the format will suffer no change and one more team will be eliminated at the end of the DPC Europe Lower Division League.

EU Lower Division matches will resume tomorrow, February 17 at 15:00 CET with Czech team Hippomaniacs fighting to keep their spot in the competition and with Hellbear Smashers playing for a top two, which will grant them promotion in the Upper Division of the next season.
