Minnesota Rokkr reportedly bench GodRx before CDL postseason

The Call of Duty League postseason begins next month, and it seems one team is already making moves. According to multiple sources, the Minnesota Rokkr has benched one of its star players, Adam “GodRx” Brown. The move reportedly was made earlier today when the team was seen scrimmaging without the assault rifle player. In his place is current Minnesota substitute Kaden “Exceed” Stockdale. At the time of writing, Rokkr has not made an official announcement regarding the roster move. However, it seems fairly official as GodRx seemed to confirm it on his Twitter account.

Earlier in the night, the Rokkr were scrimmaging the Dallas Empire on Major League Gaming’s Gamebattles website. Since this site is public, anyone can see the players participating in the scrimmage. Well, when someone looked earlier, GodRx, who has been a staple on the roster, wasn’t present. Instead, Exceed was playing in his place.

While some thought this could be a one-time substitution, it seems that GodRx may not see the CDL postseason. As you can see in the tweet above, GodRx tweeted a gif of a disappointed child moments after the scrimmage was played. In addition to this, the Minnesota player tweeted out, “And there it is.” shortly after. His statement suggests the move was made internally official.

Obviously, we don’t know any details regarding the situation. However, it does appear that Exceed has taken GodRx’s spot on the Minnesota Rokkr roster. We saw OpTic Gaming L.A. make a similar move earlier in the month when they benched star player Brandon “Dashy” Otell. So, this kind of move has precedent in the CDL.

The Rokkr have been struggling mightily since the Call of Duty League went to an online format. It’s clear that the organization hopes Exceed will provide a much-needed spark for the postseason. If he doesn’t, it’s hard to imagine Minnesota making it to Call of Duty Champs.
