Verizon Becomes 5G and 4G LTE Network Partner of Twitch Rivals

Verizon announced Wednesday that it has partnered with Twitch to become the official 5G and 4G LTE network partner of Twitch Rivals North America.

Financial terms and length of the deal were not disclosed.

According to the announcement, Verizon and Twitch will work together to create media and broadcast integrations during official Twitch Rivals streams, activations at Twitch events (when events such as this can safely return), and other undisclosed initiatives related to Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network including what it calls “5G concepts” that explore the “impact 5G can have across the industry.”

This is not the first time that Verizon has worked with Twitch on Twitch Rivals or an esports-related organization in 2020; In January it partnered with Twitch, the NFL Players Association, and TurboTax to present the Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl. Verizon also signed a deal in July with FaZe Clan to become its “exclusive and official 5G and 4G LTE network sponsor,” a partnership with the League of Legends Championship Series in June, and in January teamed up with esports organization Dignitas to open the first 5G esports training facility in the United States.
