Observant cinema fans may recognize Poulter from his roles in Midsommar, game developer Colin Ritman in Netflix’s choose-your-own-adventure movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, as Gally from the Maze Runner franchise, Bridger in the Revenant, and the Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Amazon is staying silent on the exact nature of who or what Poulter will be playing, Variety reports. It's been rumored that Amazon may focus on a young Aragorn, roughly 100 years before the events of Peter Jackson's film trilogy.
Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series, which is confirmed to be set in the Second Age, well before the events of the Fellowship of the Ring, has already cast actress Markella Kavanagh. The behind-the-scenes production crew includes Game of Thrones and Star Wars filmmakers such as director J.A. Bayona (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), executive producer Belén Atienza (Pan’s Labyrinth), Lindsey Weber (10 Cloverfield Lane), Bruce Richmond (Game of Thrones), Gene Kelly (Boardwalk Empire) and Sharon Tal Yguado.
