Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Glory Regained Guide

Glory Regained is the next quest in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla after Orphans of the Fens. After successfully reuniting Soma with her inner circle, you will be tasked with helping her to lead the raid on Grantebridge in order to reclaim the town from Wigmund.

This quest is pretty combat-heavy, which is why we’ve decided to put together this Glory Regained guide as part of our complete Assassin’s Creed Valhalla walkthrough. Here’s how to take back Grantebridge from the Saxons in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Glory Regained Guide

This guide picks up right where our Orphans of the Fens guide left off, meaning that it starts after you go to sleep at the end of the last quest. When you wake up the next morning, you will speak to Birna, Galinn, and Lif at the camp. After chatting to each of them, head over to Soma, who will ask if you are ready to begin the raid on Grantebridge. If you still need to prepare, say no — otherwise confirm that you want to start the raid, which will trigger a brief cutscene and cause a new quest marker to show up on your minimap.

You can either take the longboat down or fast travel to the synchronization point beside where you met Magni during The Great Scattered Army quest earlier on. I recommend doing the latter, as this way you can quickly call your mount and cross the bridge straight to Soma’s camp is. Soma is at the other side of the bridge, right outside the town of Grantebridge. As you approach her, a cutscene will begin.

The cutscene will show Wigmund refusing to give up. Once it ends, use your bow to blow up the flammable barrels and burst through the gates, which will allow Soma and her army to begin their raid on the village.

After defeating the first wave of enemies and pushing forward, Soma will mention the longhouse. However, you will need to keep fighting until the quest objective officially changes to “regroup with Soma” for this to mean anything. At this point you obviously need to go back to her, which will allow her to lead the way deeper into the village. When she arrives at the longhouse, she will issue a challenge to Wigmund, who has already ran away. Here you will have to face Wigmund’s lieutenant, a huge miniboss. He’s quite fast and deals a lot of damage, but his head is massive, so if you keep your distance it’s pretty easy to deplete his health quickly and safely with arrow headshots. I also tried setting him on fire by throwing torches, but that did far less damage and I ended up burning myself more than him, so maybe that’s not the best strategy.

After defeating the lieutenant and the standard enemies, Soma will call you over to speak to her just outside the longhouse. After a brief exchange, follow Soma to the town’s horn, which you must blow to announce victory. After this a cutscene will play showing Soma’s people feasting to celebrate retaking the town. The next morning Soma will wake you and inform you that she thinks a traitor from her inner circle helped Wigmund escape. She will give you Blodwulf, a light shield, in exchange for your loyalty. Now you must go out on individual raids with each of her three advisors to figure out who the traitor is.
