Call of Duty Mobile controller support update: Finally some good news

Call of DutyMobile recently released and by all estimates, it's been a massive success for Activision.

According to the analytics firm Sensor Tower, Call of Duty: Mobile has surpassed 100 million downloads on iOS and Android.

This makes it one of the fastest mobile games to reach this install base in just one week after its initial launch.

However, there's still one big issue for the game and thats the lack of Controller support for players.

An issue that's made more complicated by the fact the game initially launched with controller support before an update quickly patched it out.

However, there's some good news for players who are wondering when will Call of Duty Mobile controller support return.

At the tail end of the working week Activision released the games first Community Update on a new r/CallofDutyMobile subreddit.

This provided some feedback and insight into changes that were coming to the game, alongside more details about a new mode, Free for All.

A message to fans read:

"In this first community update, we’d like to treat you all as well are you’ve been treating us by sharing news about upcoming updates, acknowledging feedback, and teasing some juicy content in the pipeline."

They covered an awful lost, but the most interesting part of the update could be found in the 'Feedback' section and those wishing to use controllers will be pleased.

The dev team explained that they are continuing to test controller support but are indeed looking to bring the feature back to the game "in the future".

The team didn't provide a timeframe on when the feature could return, but asked fans to "hang tight".

Here's the full statement:

"We hear you loud and clear that you want to know about controller support. We are currently testing controller support and looking at the possibility of offering this feature sometime in the future, but we’d have to make sure it is properly implemented and balanced. Just hang tight."

So it seems it's only a matter of time before Activision reinstates the feature, and when that does happen, we can only imagine the game getting even more popular than it already is.
