Call of Duty Modern Warfare Update: New Playlist for January 7
Call of Duty Modern Warfare has released a new playlist update on January 7 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Today's new update doesn't bring "all the fixes" as players might have hoped for (more on that further down), but does change up the multiplayer playlist choices.
The new playlist you can choose from now includes:
- Gunfight 1v1
- 5v5 Shipment 24/7 (Replacing Shoot House 24/7)
- Gun Game (Replacing Grind)
As per Charlie Inte l, there's also several new bundles in the store.
News of this latest update comes ahead of what we expect to be a much larger update to the game later this week.
Earlier this week Joe Cecot, co-design director of multiplayer at Infinity Ward, noted on Twitter : “[The patch] should launch in January. Don’t have an exact date.”
“Our next big update should have all of the fixes. We start pushing this update through this week. I don’t have the exact date. Sorry.”
We assume 'pushing it through' means sending the patch through for approval from the platform holders (Microsoft, PlayStation and so on) and that process can take up to a week.
This incoming patch with 'all the fixes' isn't the only update in the works, either.
Infinity Ward's art director has also shared info on Reddit that confirms we'll be getting more slots for loadouts in the coming weeks, too.
“You and everyone else that has commented on this are right," Joel Emslie noted on Reddit . "It’s in mainline back at the studio, and we’ve been tinkering with it.
“I’m not sure which update its in, but I think it’s next. Believe it or not, it can cause horrible bugs if not tested properly. I’m not certain about all this, so don’t get fired up on me if I’m wrong. Since I’ve commented here, I'll stick with the issue at the studio.”
Though we don't know when these updates will land, we at least know that the updates will drop before the end of Season 1 – which is due to finish on January 28.
We'll keep you updated as we learn more.
