Destiny 2 Halloween Event 2019 will bring back Haunted Forest timed mode

But the forest is haunted, too.

An emblem found within Destiny 2's newest update, Shadowkeep, seems to suggest that one of last Halloween's best additions to the game will be returning with 2019's Festival of the Lost event.

As of the Shadowkeep update, each emblem regarding the Haunted Forest in the shared-world shooter has two stat lines: one for stats earned in 2018 and one for stats earned in 2019.

Bungie has not yet revealed that the mode will be available in 2019, but these emblems hint that the best bit of Festival of the Lost is certainly going to return to the sandbox shooter.

If you need a recap on what Haunted Forest actually is, the location comes as part of a timed mission that sends Guardians into the Haunted Forest to kill legions of different enemies.

If you players complete a branch of the spooky dungeon, you're teleported into a boss arena – and if you complete that, you come back around to the start and do it all over again, with each run getting harder.

There are some cool rewards on offer in the mode, so we're looking forward to seeing what a 2019 version of the game mode will look like.

So when is it coming to the game? Well…

Bungie has announced that Festival of the Lost 2019 will begin on October 29th, 2019 and run until November 19th, 2019.

You can likely expect the mode to arrive as part of these celebrations.

This year, we can expect Eris Morn and the moon to play a part in the jubilations since they're the most recent additions to the game. Amanda Holliday will most likely serve as the primary vendor for the event again, and we can almost certainly expect more missions, bounties and unique cosmetics as part of the event.

Whether the new additions to the game will impact how the Forest works remains to be seen.

Expect new Triumphs, Milestones and changes to the social areas on the Weekly Reset that introduces the Festival.
