Doctor Who Board Game Adds 13th Doctor In New Expansion

Doctor Who board game, Time of the Daleks, has a new edition on the way that will feature the thirteenth Doctor. Along with Jodie Whittaker’s likeness being scaled down as the thirteenth Doctor’s game piece, the new edition will feature new companions, locations, and villains.

Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks is a Gale Force Nine board game that accommodates two to four players and has both co-op and competitive elements. The premise of the game revolves around the Doctor’s arch nemesis, the sentient robot race bent on extermination, the Daleks. This time they’re trying to eradicate the Doctor in every facet of time. Using one iteration of the Doctor and a carefully selected team of companions, players must band together to keep the Daleks at bay. Only one player can win, by being the first to reach the Doctor’s home planet of Gallifrey, but everyone loses if the Daleks get there first. Time Lords and their companion teams have to travel through time and space to beat back the Daleks, preventing paradoxes and collecting power ups.

While there’s not yet a release date for these updates, pricing has been made available; the board game itself will cost $50 and the Friends packs $20 each.

For Doctor Who fans, being able to reunite Rose and the Tenth Doctor is treat enough without also being able to save space and time. As the fourth expansion, Third & Thirteenth will give board game and sci-fi fans alike all the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey feels. Now the real question: how many more expansions until they include a button that makes the TARDIS sound?
