FromSoftware’s Elden Ring is a sprawling, challenging, and almost endless RPG with hundreds of weapons, pieces of armor, spells, and upgrades to find across its massive map. Some of the game’s best weapons appear in late-game areas that are inaccessible for players just starting their quest to become the Elden Lord. Other powerful weapons, however, can be found very early in the game, if you know the right places to look.
One of these weapons is the Meteoric Ore Blade, an Intelligence-based katana with a unique weapon art that allows you to pull enemies towards yourself.
How To Find The Meteoric Ore Blade
The Meteoric Ore Blade can be found relatively quickly from the moment you enter the Lands Between, although you may need to level up a number of your stats if you are getting this blade right at the start of your journey.
From the First Steps Grace, located outside the spawn area in Limgrave, make your way to the Dragon-Burnt Ruins. Here you will be attacked by a number of enemies, including a rather powerful dragon — avoid them if you do not wish to fight. Then, head into the basement of the ruins. Here you will find a chest, open the chest to be transported to the far eastern corner of Elden Ring’s map.
After opening the chest you will awaken in the Sellia Crystal Tunnel, one of the game's many dungeons. This is not your end goal, however. Sneak out of this dungeon — if you are a low level, just avoid the enemies; they hit very hard. Make sure to touch the Site of Grace at the cave's entrance.
From here, summon your mount, or make the journey on foot, and travel southwest until you find the Caelid Waypoint Ruins, as pictured above. This journey can be treacherous at a low level, so try and avoid combat altogether.
Once at the Caelid Waypoint Ruins, sneak by the enemies and travel into the basement. Here it will be completely dark, so equip your torch. Avoid the enemies down here, they are slow-moving so utilizing the sprint and jump functions will be of great help. There will be a door at the back of this room, open it and find the chest; here will be the Meteoric Ore Blade.
If you do not have a torch, you can purchase one at the Church of Elleh in Limgrave.
The Meteoric Ore Blade Stats
The Meteoric Ore Blade is a katana that scales in Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. This means that the more points you put into each of those stats, the more damage this weapon will deal.
The Meteoric Ore Blade has a number of unique features. Firstly, it is rare that a katana scales in strength and intelligence, making it a perfect weapon for a hybrid magic and melee user. Secondly, the weapon deals bleed damage; a build-up of bleed will cause enemies to take a huge chunk of damage — this is an especially powerful tool in Elden Ring. Lastly, the sword has a unique weapon art named “Gravitas” which staggers enemies, pulling them closer to you.
The Meteoric Ore Blade requires 15 strength, 14 Dexterity, and 18 Intelligence. To upgrade this item you will need Somber Smithing Stones, a rarer version of the game’s standard upgrade materials.
