Exoprimal’s Latest Trailer Reveals Flaming Pteranodons And Molten Ankylosaurs

Capcom would like to introduce you to Exoprimal's dinosaurs. Some of them might seem familiar, such as velociraptors, pteranodons, and tyrannosaurus rexes, but the mutant Neo dinosaurs might surprise archeologists with just how much fire they can breathe.

Today's trailer starts off with velociraptors and pteranodons, which seem to be the main "horde" monsters of Exoprimal. They don't really do much other than come at the player in large quantities, requiring a large shield or a large AOE attack to deal with. Next we have the ankylosaurs, which seems like a large, tough, tank-like dinosaur that can knock Exofighters prone with its powerful tail. Ditto pachycephalosaurus, which attack using their armored skulls.

Then we arrive at two of the most famous dinosaurs. Triceratops seems like an ankylosaur that can impale you on its three horns, while the T-rex is huge, hungry, and can tear you to pieces just like every Jurassic Park film has shown us for years.

And then there's the Neosaurs, mutated versions of dinosaurs that have special, often gruesome powers. The Gas Neosaur, for example, is a velociraptor with a giant pustule on its back that contains some sort of flammable liquid. The Sniper Neosaur can launch caustic liquid at the player, while the Evoker Neosaur summons regular versions of itself to attack alongside it. The Pyro Neosaur launches fireballs at the player, and the Neo Ankylosaurus adds molten lava to its already devastating physical attacks.

The Neo T-Rex was shown only briefly, leaving it up to the viewer to guess what horrible mutated power this apex predator will have in Exoprimal.

Although both games heavily feature dinosaurs, producer Ichiro Kiyokawa told IGN that Exoprimal is "its own unique thing and has no relationship to Dino Crisis." He also said it'll be a premium game and laid out Exoprimal's main mode, Dino Survival, which pits two teams of five players in a race to complete map objectives set by the malignant AI, Leviathan.

Exoprimal arrives sometime in 2023.
