Forget The Witcher 3, THIS is the best Nintendo Switch game launching this week
Nintendo Switch fans have been treated to a treasure trove of high-profile new game releases this week.
Overwatch kicked things off with an October 15 release date on the handheld/home console hybrid.
Blizzard’s hugely popular multiplayer shooter may be more than three years old, but it still packs one hell of a punch.
Even more impressive is The Witcher 3, which also launched on October 15.
A miracle port of the impossibly huge adventure game, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Complete Edition doesn’t just contain the original game, but also the post-release expansions like Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone.
Then there’s brand new Nintendo Switch exclusive Ring Fit Adventure, which looks to emulate the success of Wii Fit when it launches on October 18.
But there’s arguably one game that bests all of the latest Nintendo Switch releases.
Announced during a recent Nintendo Switch Direct, Return of the Obra Dinn has an October 18 release date on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Developed by Papers, Please creator Lucas Pope, the stylish indie game has an overwhelmingly positive rating on Steam based on more than 5,000 user reviews.
It’s been featured in countless game of the year lists and has won multiple awards since its 2018 launch.
After appearing exclusively on PC and Mac, the game finally makes its debut on consoles this week.
Let’s hope it doesn’t get overshadowed by some of the higher profile game launches this week.
Return of the Obra Dinn is described as a first-person mystery adventure based on exploration and logical deduction.
“In 1802, the merchant ship Obra Dinn set out from London for the Orient with over 200 tons of trade goods,” reads the official description.
“Six months later it hadn’t met its rendezvous point at the Cape of Good Hope and was declared lost at sea.
“Early this morning of October 14th, 1807, the Obra Dinn drifted into port at Falmouth with damaged sails and no visible crew. As insurance investigator for the East India Company’s London Office, dispatch immediately to Falmouth, find means to board the ship, and prepare an assessment of damages.”
