Fortnite New Year’s Eve 2021 event leaked

Fans can take a sneak peek at what is likely to be Fortnite’s special New Year’s Eve event that will kick off 2021.

Fortnite’s Christmas-themed Operation Snowdown event is still ongoing (in fact, it won’t end until January 5), but players can also start preparing for the planned New Year’s Eve event too.

Though there has been no official announcement from Epic Games yet, a couple of details about the event have already been leaked online.

According to in-game footage provided by regular Fortnite leaker IntheShade, this year’s event looks to be basically the same as the last one.

At midnight on New Year’s Eve, a large rift will open in the night sky, accompanied by a myriad of fireworks.

While simple and fitting, it’s always possible that what’s in the video is an early or incomplete version of the event and that Epic has a couple more intended plans to help make the event feel more special.

At the very least, players can ring in the new year in style, dressed as one of the many crossover characters that have been recently added to Fortnite, like the Mandalorian, Master Chief, or Black Panther.

For Fortnite Crew members, Epic has confirmed the contents of January’s Crew exclusive pack, specifically, a Green Arrow skin based on his appearance in the live-action Arrow TV show.

Fortnite Crew members will receive the pack at 7pm ET / 4pm ET on December 31 and 12am GMT on January 1.

Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
