Genshin Impact: A Guide to Every Free-to-Play Weapon in The Game

Genshin Impact is a game that heavily relies on gatcha mechanics for players who want to get new weapons and characters. While it may seem like you have to spend money to get anything good, the game actually has quite a few systems in place to ensure free-to-play players can enjoy the game just as much as those buying primogems can.

The game gives out tons of free primogems and wishes but did you also know that it’s rather easy to get a hold of four-star weapons? Through events like the Windblume festival and the forge, you can get decent four-star equipment without having to open your wallet. Here are all the details.

Standard Forge Weapons

These items can be obtained through gathering weapon prototypes and ore. Simply go to the blacksmith in Liyue or Mondstat to begin forging the weapons below.

Crescent Pike – Polearm

  • Base Attack: 44
  • Secondary Stat: 5.5% Physical Damage Bonus

Picking up an elemental particle allows for charged and normal attacks to deal 20% more damage for five seconds.

Prototype Amber – Catalyst

  • Base Attack: 42
  • Secondary Stat: 9% Health Increase

Activating your elemental burst now regenerates four energy every two seconds for six seconds, and all party members will receive 4% of their health back every two seconds as well.

Prototype Archaic – Claymore

  • Base Attack: 44
  • Secondary Stat: Attack Increased by 6%

When striking an enemy with your normal or charged attack, you have a 50% chance of dealing a bonus 240% AoE damage to the target every 15 seconds.

Prototype Crescent – Bow

Using the user’s elemental skill increased charged attack damage by 8% for twelve seconds and can stack up to two times.

Prototype Rancour – Sword

  • Secondary Stat: Physical Damage Bonus of 7.5%

When an enemy is hit with either normal and charge attacks, the character’s attack and defense is increased by 6%, and the effect can stack up to four times, but the effect can only occur every.03 seconds.

Compound Bow – Bow

  • Base Attack: 41
  • Secondary Stat: Physical Damage Bonus of 15%

When an enemy is hit by a normal or charged attack, the character’s attack is increased by 4%, and their attack speed is increased by 1.2% for 6 seconds. This can stack up to four times.

Iron Sting – Sword

  • Base Attack: 42
  • Secondary Stat: Elemental Mastery Increased by 36

Dealing elemental damage to enemies gives a 6% increase to all damage for six seconds. This can stack twice, and the damage increase can only occur once every second.

Mappa Mare – Catalyst

  • Base Attack: 44
  • Secondary Stat: Elemental Mastery Increased by 24

When you trigger an elemental reaction, you will get an 8% damage bonus for 10 seconds that can stack twice.

Whiteblind – Claymore

  • Base Attack: 42
  • Secondary Stat: Defense Increased by 11.3%

When hitting an enemy with either a normal or charged attack, you will get a 6% increase to defense for six seconds that can stack up to four times. This effect can occur every 0.5 seconds.

Dragon Spine Recipes

The Dragon Spine weapons can be obtained through various quests in the Dragonspine mountain region. These weapons can be obtained even at lower adventure ranks, and all have the same special ability.

When a Dragonspine weapon is used, there is a 60% chance that using either a charged or normal attack will summon an icicle to drop down onto nearby enemies. This will deal 80% of your characters’ attack in AoE cryo damage. If the enemy you are fighting is weak to cryo damage, however, then the icicle will deal 2o0% AoE cryo damage. The icicle can fall every ten seconds.

Dragonspine Spear – Polearm

  • Base Attack: 41
  • Secondary Stat: Physical Damage Bonus of 15%

Snow Tombed-Starsilver – Claymore

  • Base Attack: 44
  • Secondary Stat: Physical Damage Bonus of 7.5%

Frostbearer – Catalyst

  • Base Attack: 42
  • Secondary Stat: Attack Increased by 9%

Free Event Weapons

Event weapons are a bit of an anomaly since the game hasn’t been out long enough to know if the weapons in this category will become available once again or not. So far, there have been two event four-star weapons released.

Festering Desire was part of the Dragonspine release event, and Windblume Ode was part of the Mondstadt Windblume festival, which seems to have the highest chance of recurring.

The items needed to refine these weapons are also connected to these events, which can make them a bit difficult to fully power up for players who came in later or didn’t get the chance to get the refinement material.

Festering Desire – Sword

  • Base Attack: 42
  • Secondary Stat: 10% Energy Recharge Bonus

Damage of elemental skill attacks is increased by 16%, while critical damage from elemental skills is increased by 6%.

Windblume Ode – Bow

  • Base Attack: 42
  • Secondary Stat: Elemental Mastery Increased by 36

Once you use an elemental skill, the bow will give you a 16% increase to your attack for six seconds.
