Hideo Kojima’s Latest Tease Adds Fuel To Death Stranding 2 Speculation
We're just hours away from The Game Awards and Hideo Kojima is still teasing his next project, which we're almost certain is Death Stranding 2. The latest follows in the same pattern that revealed Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna as being involved. As before, Kojima released a teaser image with a series of silhouettes, and the middle shadow is the only one that hasn't already been revealed. Kojima also asks "how come?", a question he first asked at the beginning of November.
The middle silhouette looks a lot like Léa Seydoux, the French actress who played Fragile in the original Death Stranding. As noted by Insider Gaming, the mole on the right cheek is a dead giveaway, but other Twitter fans also seem to have gotten this one pretty easily.
What's interesting here is that the logos beneath the three silhouettes line up so that each person is probably associated with each organization. On the right, we can see a tentacle monster being stabbed with spears, perhaps corresponding with Shioli Kutsuna's organization fighting BTs. In the middle, the logo looks a lot like an umbrella and a bridge. Fragile held an umbrella throughout Death Stranding, so perhaps Sam Bridges and Fragile team up in Death Stranding 2.
The logo on the left is the only one we're still not sure about, but it at least gives us the name: "Automated Public Assistance Company." Perhaps this is a rival delivery service that uses drones instead of people.
All of this is wild speculation, but we might not have to wait long for us to find out for sure. Kojima's December 1 tweet received a reply from Geoff Keighley, personal friend and host of The Game Awards, perhaps hinting at a TGA reveal of Death Stranding 2. We know that the game is in development thanks to Sam Bridges actor Normal Reedus leaking the game back in May. We also know Death Stranding 2 has the codename Ocean from a report in October.
Or we might be wrong and all this is actually about Overdose, Kojima’s other rumored project. Fingers crossed we find out in a few hours.
