Lego Super Mario Sets Currently Discounted At Amazon

If you’ve been waiting to pick up the expensive expansion sets for Lego Super Mario, now might be the perfect time. Amazon is currently discounting a handful of Lego products including the Guarded Fortress Expansion, Mario’s House and Yoshi Expansion, and the Piranha Plant Power Slide Expansion.

The only downside to the sale is that the base kit – Lego Super Mario Starter Course – is still listed at its regular price of $60, and you’ll need that Starter Course to take advantage of all these expansions. However, anyone who has been patiently waiting for these costly add-ons to drop their price tags are finally in luck. Here’s a full list of what’s on sale, and a few of our favorites:

  • Whomp’s Lava Trouble Expansion Set – Sale Price: $16 (Regular Price: $20)
  • Guarded Fortress Expansion Set – Sale Price: $40 (Regular Price: $50)
  • Boomer Bill Barrage – Sale Price: $24 (Regular Price: $30)
  • Desert Pokey Expansion Set – Sale Price: $16 (Regular Price: $20)
  • Mario’s House and Yoshi Expansion Set – Sale Price: $24 (Regular Price: $30)
  • Piranha Plant Power Slide Expansion Set – Sale Price: $24 (Regular Price: $30)

There are a few expansions not on sale – including the massive Bower’s Castle Boss Battle Expansion Set – but we wouldn’t be surprised to see more discounts pop up as we near Black Friday. Lego products can frequently be picked up at reduced prices on that day, and Nintendo might be keen to push its most popular merchandise around the holidays in lieu of releasing a new console.

Nintendo’s had a strong showing in alternative gaming this year. First we had the innovate Mario Lego set, and most recently we’ve seen the release of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit – an RC car that’s controlled by your Switch. The hot product sold out within hours of going live on Nintendo’s website, and we’re curious to see what sort of numbers it puts up in the coming months. A few weeks ago it landed on the top ten list for best-selling games in Japan, and we have a feeling it’ll perform well in the western during these chilly holiday months.
