Mass Effect Trilogy listed on retailer website, including for Switch

Yet more evidence has emerged that a Mass Effect Trilogy remaster will be out this October, but there’s still no official word.

Leaks have become such a ubiquitous part of the game reveal process that even when a publisher hasn’t even hinted at a title officially it’s usually pretty obvious whether the rumour is true or not.

Mass Effect Trilogy is different though as we can’t work out why, if it is true, EA are being so secretive about it; especially if, as multiple reports suggest, it’s out next month.

There certainly is plenty of circumstantial evidence to back up the rumours, with one fan in the UK even managing to pre-order it from GAME, and now it’s turned up at a Portuguese retailer as well.

It also lists a Switch version of Mass Effect Trilogy, although the fact that it’s cheaper than the other versions seems very odd and the least believable part of the leak.

At the moment the whole website is down, perhaps because of everyone checking to see the rumour, so we can’t tell whether the listings are still up or not.

Other previous evidence includes a new art book that’s due for release next March, which doesn’t make much sense unless there’s some kind of new release, and a suspicious increase in the amount of Mass Effect merchandise on BioWare’s website.

And yet still there’s not been a peep out of EA, who don’t have any reveal events scheduled at the moment and aren’t know for springing games out of the blue.

It’s all a bit odd but hopefully we’ll get some official news soon. In fact, there’s a third party Nintendo Direct on Thursday, so if there is a Switch version maybe it’ll debut there…
