New Harry Potter game announced for PS5 will allow fans to explore Hogwarts
Harry Potter fans rejoice!
It’s been a long time coming, but Warner Bros Games has finally announced Hogwarts Legacy.
The open-world RPG game will allow fans to explore the Harry Potter universe further.
The announcement came alongside news that the PS5 will launch in November.
But if you’re not planning on splashing out on Sony’s newest console – don’t worry.
Warner Bros took to Twitter to calm the nerves of gamers and wizards alike.
The Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account shared: “For those curious, Hogwarts Legacy will be available for PS5, PS4, PS4 Pro, the Xbox One family of devices, including Xbox Series X and Xbox One X, and PC.”
Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch in 2021.
Players can look forward to taking on the role of a witch or wizard, and experience life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the 1800s.
Savvy Potter fans will know what that means – you won’t be taking on the role of the boy who lived himself.
Instead, the trailer gives the impression that players will create their own character.

The game looks absolutely stunning, and throughout the adventure players can learn new spells while embarking on missions.
Warner Bros describes the game as an “open world, single player, action role-playing” game where “players will experience life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry like never before, as they live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world”.
According to the press release, players will “grow their magical abilities by mastering spells, brewing potions and taming fantastic beasts”.
Fans can also look forward to seeing other familiar locations, such as the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village.
