Nintendo has updated the DLC page for Smash Bros Ultimate’s next fighter
We're expecting Nintendo to announce a new Nintendo Direct livestream sometime over the next few weeks, and one of the main announcements we're expecting from the stream will be about the next Smash fighter.
The new character is due to arrive as part of the Fighters Pass 5 DLC, which is scheduled for launch no later than February 2020.
Towards the end of last year, we saw 'the face of Smash Bros', Masahiro Sakurai, wasn't at The Game Awards because, true to his diligent image, he was absent due to being stuck at work (assumedly on the new DLC).
Nintendo has previously stated: “All packs will be released by Feb. 2020, but be sure to check back for exact timing and more details.”
That means we've only got about five weeks left to hear who's coming – and see them launch in-game.
As we patiently wait for any more news about who will be added to gaming's biggest crossover fighting title, we've seen a little more information about the upcoming DLC appear on the Switch eShop.
The console's eShop updated the listing for the DLC fighter to suggest the estimated launch date of the content is now 29 February 2020.
The new listing notes that the character will arrive with a new stage and 'several' new music tracks.
The finer details about what we can expect from the DLC are still anyone's guess, but at least we know it's looking like a more solid reality now.
