Outer Wilds on PS4: is Outer Wilds coming to PlayStation?

Outer Wilds was released in May 2019 for PC and Xbox One to great critical reception.

The open world action-adventure game scored 85 out of 100 on Meteoritic – meaning fans loved it.

It’s no surprise PlayStation 4 owners now want a piece of the pie.

So will Outer Wilds ever come to PS4?

Is Outer Wilds coming to PS4?

As of yet, Mobius Digital has not announced any plans to bring Outer Wilds to PS4.

When the game made an appearance at Xbox E3 2018, it was marketed as a “Console Launch Exclusive”.

Sadly, this meant the game would only launch on Xbox One.

But that doesn’t mean all hope is lost.

This was also the case with Inside, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).

So, in some cases games come to other consoles six to 12 months later.

Given the raving success of Outer Wilds, we wouldn’t be surprised if the game came to PS4.

But we wouldn’t bank on a release date earlier than 2020.

What is Outer Wilds?

Outer Wilds is a space-exploration game which was developer by Mobius Digital.

In the game the character finds themselves on a planet with only 22 minutes before the local sun goes supernova and kills them.

The game description reads: “Outer Wilds is an open world mystery about a solar system trapped in an endless time loop.

“Welcome to the Space Program! You’re the newest recruit of Outer Wilds Ventures, a fledgling space program searching for answers in a strange, constantly evolving solar system.

“Mysteries of the Solar System… What lurks in the heart of the ominous Dark Bramble? Who built the alien ruins on the Moon? Can the endless time loop be stopped? Answers await you in the most dangerous reaches of space.”
