Over 10 Million People Got Free Copies Of Remnant

Perfect World Entertainment and Gunfire Games have announced that Remnant: From the Ashes, which was free on the Epic Game stores from August 13 to August 20, was claimed by over 10 million people last week. It was also released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 20, 2019.

For those keeping score at home, that’s more than the 7.5 million gamers that claimed their free copy of A Total War Saga: TROY from Epic.

Remnant: From the Ashes, a third-person survival-action shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monstrous creatures, involves the hunt for dangerous adversaries using two guns, one main weapon and sidearms.

The game takes place in a future overrun by monstrous beings, where humanity’s last hope for survival is to escape to alternate dimensions for shelter and discover what these monsters’ intentions are. The tremendous success of the game shows that increasing numbers of gamers are relying upon Epic’s digital store for games.

Though many players are shunning all games that are released on Epic, the success of Remnant: From the Ashes is proof that the site is still popular. Aside from free games, Epic is still working with several publishers and developers. Hitman 3 will be released exclusively on the Epic store, as will Crysis Remastered. The game’s final premium DLC, Subject 2923 was also released yesterday, with loads of new content and hours of gameplay.

Remnant: From the Ashes is also available as a digital download for PC, Xbox One and PS4 at $39.99, with a physical version available at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop for $39.99.
