Pokémon Sword and Shield spoilers have leaked absolutely everything

If you’re a Pokémon fan you might want to stay away from the Internet for a while, although don’t worry: this story contains no spoilers.

It’s almost impossible to keep secrets in the games industry, which means most new game announcements are never really a surprise and it’s often easy to find details about any new title if you look hard enough. But the leaks for Pokémon Sword and Shield are on another level.

We’re not going to spoil anything here, but if you’re curious every single pokémon in the game has now been leaked, including which older pokémon have made the cut and which haven’t.

Although some stuff leaked out earlier the main source of the info is very straightforward: finished copies of the games are already out in the wild and some people have got hold of them early.

Rather than just playing the game some fans have been datamining it for information, so if you go looking for information on Google you’re probably going to find it.

Nintendo has been attempting to delete information where they can though, which means some of the info can only be found in the less pleasant corners of the web, which we do not advise you visit.

A safer port of call is this thread on forum ResetEra, which lists most of the more important information and isn’t going to flood your device with malware just for looking at it.

Curiously, a lot of the information was leaked onto 4chan back in May, which at the time many thought to be fake. Almost all of it has since been proven to be true though, which means there’s a mole somewhere in the Pokémon Company hierarchy, and we don’t mean a Drilbur.

If you can wait till then, Pokémon Sword and Shield will be released on Friday, 15 November, only on Nintendo Switch.
