PS5 stock is still hard to come by, over a month since the next generation console from Sony first launched in the UK. At the time of writing the PS5 is sold out across the board, with the Digital and regular version of the PS5 with a Blu-ray disc drive out of stock at all major retailers. So, when is the PS5 likely to come in stock at retailers such as GAME, Argos, Currys and Amazon next?

GAME previously were rumoured to be getting a PS5 restock on Christmas Eve, with PlayStation 5 console bundles listed on their website as becoming available to order on December 24.

However, this date came and went without any more PS5 stock becoming available to buy. It’s unclear when the PS5 will come back in stock at GAME, but rumours are circulating that orders may open once again on January 31 2021.

Take that with a pinch of salt though – hopefully PS5 stock will become available before then.

Elsewhere, things aren’t looking too promising at Amazon right now with their official Amazon Help Twitter account saying PS5 orders are closed with it unclear when stock will become available again.

PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console

In the run-up to Christmas the @AmazonHelp Twitter posted: “Orders for the Sony PlayStation 5 are closed for the time being and we don’t know when it will be back in stock.”

Fellow retail giant Argos has also delivered bad PS5 stock news, with a message on their site saying they won’t have anymore PS5 stock for the remainder of 2020.

While the Very website says they have sold out of the PS5 but say more stock is “coming soon”.

The Very website says: “Unfortunately we have sold out of our PS5 consoles for now. We have more stock coming so keep checking back for our next drop.”

On Boxing Day the Team Knowhow Twitter, who deal with customer service queries for Currys PC World, also said they weren’t able to give a date for any potential PS5 restocks.

The account tweeted: “We’re unable to respond on the curryspcworld account but to answer your query we haven’t announced a replenishment date for the PS5 just yet but please stay tuned and keep an eye on the website for any updates”.

Elsewhere, the Smyths Toys website says more PS5 stock is expected in January 2021 while ASDA said they may have some more PS5 stock news in the coming weeks.

Responding to one PS5 fan, the ASDA Service Team tweeted: “Hey there, we are still waiting on confirmation of any further stock of PS5’s coming into stock. We are asking all customers to keep checking online and hope to hear some news in the up and coming weeks.”

Whenever the PS5 does come in stock next it’s likely it will sell out extremely quickly.

Despite it being over a month since the next-gen consoles launched demand for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X is still extremely high.

And this has been demonstrated by the latest Xbox Series X stock drop which became available at Amazon UK today.

Both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S were available to order at Amazon UK, but the Xbox Series X stock sold out in a matter of minutes.

It seems you need lighting fast reactions to pick up a next-gen console at the moment, and this trend is unfortunately likely to continue for a while longer until stock becomes more plentiful.

Xbox chief financial officer Tim Stuart previously indicated that the Xbox Series X will be in short supply until April 2021 at least.

While Sony has reportedly ramped up production of the PS5 to meet demand, with the tech giant working hard to get more supplies into the market after Christmas.

However, since the PS5 reportedly had the biggest console launch in history, and demand is still sky high, it’s likely stock will be in high demand for some time going forward.
