PUBG Mobile UPDATE: New release date news ahead of Season 13 launch

PUBG Mobile Season 13 is launching later this month but before that happens, Tencent is bringing some big changes to the popular Battle Royale experience. This week will see the release of a big new PUBG Mobile update, which is promising to revamp the Miramar map, among other changes. And the good news is that we know when all this new content will be arriving on Android and iOS in May.

It should be noted that the actual PUBG Mobile 0.18.0 release date may differ slightly depending on where you live in the world.

Miramar 2.0 will be the most notable change for many gamers who login after the patch goes live.

Tencent has confirmed that they plan to release PUBG Mobile update 0.18.0 on Thursday, May 7, 2020.

And with this new patch coming so close to the launch of PUBG Season 13, there might be a few leaks shared regarding what to expect later in May too.

For now, most of the attention will be on what is changing in PUBG Mobile this week on Android and iOS.

PUBG Mobile 0.18.0 has been in beta testing for around a month and also includes the new Canted Sight attachment, which will allow for two scopes to be used.

Meanwhile, the WIN94 rifle comes with a default 2.7x scope and appears to be a weapon being saved for Miramar 2.0.

The refreshed map will come with new visual changes, revamped map locations and the new Golden Mirado.

The upcoming PUBG Mobile update is also expected to include at least one new EvoGround mode.

Two different variants were available during the beta testing phase but it seems unlikely that they will both drop at the same time.

So it will be interesting to find out what is being planned for Safety Scramble Mode, and Jungle Adventure Mode.

Tencent has also confirmed that new UI changes are being made to the results screen to make it easier to track your progress.

Gamers can also expect a new social function to be made available this week, called Cheer Park.

As mentioned above, PUBG Mobile Season 13 is expected to launch later in May 2020, following the release of patch 0.18.0.

This is expected to include a new Royale Pass, although it’s unclear what else might be included.

It’s only been a few weeks since Tencent launched a new Arctic Mode for gamers to explore, suggesting that the development team might stagger its content through Season 13.

Set on Vikendi’s cold and desolate frozen landscape, Arctic Mode challenges players to maintain their avatars’ body temperatures in various ways to survive periodic arctic storms.

Players must work together to keep their body temperatures high, as their individual meters will gradually drop, and they will incur damage.

In addition to battling the storms, players will need to fend off enemies, use their tactics to survive from the battleground.

In addition to the new gameplay mode, snowboards from the game’s Winter Festival are available for players to ride in the snow.

Similarly, remote-controlled drones have been added, which allow players to navigate and scout surrounding areas for tactical advantages.

More news regarding the release of the next PUBG Mobile update is expected in the coming days.
