Red Bull Teams Up With Riot For Daily LoL Tournaments
Riot Games has partnered with energy drink company Red Bull and tournament platform Battlefly to bring fans of League of Legends a new competitive gaming series, called Red Bull Power Spike.
The energy drink company has a track record of sponsoring events in the esports scene, and their history of working with Riot goes back to 2019 when Red Bull became an official sponsor of the 2019 LEC, later sponsoring the World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational, and All-Star Event as well.
Beginning on April 27th, Red Bull Power Spike will bring League of Legends players daily 1-on-1 tournaments and the potential to win various unique prizes such as “gear and the exclusive Discord role title of ‘Red Bull Power Spike Winner.'”
The tournament is only open to US citizens over the age of 18. For players looking to put their skills to the test, all that needs to be done to register is join the official League of Legends Discord, then head over to the Red Bull Power Spike Discord channel to find more information.
Red Bull Power Spike is designed to give people who are stuck at home and bored some much needed classic League of Legends thrills.
Chris Greeley, commissioner of the League of Legends Championship Series, commented on the new tournament in a press release, saying “Riot Games continues to find new and entertaining ways to bring League of Legends gameplay to homes across the US.” Greeley went on to say, “We are extremely excited that our ongoing partnership with Red Bull allows us to bring this unique tournament series to life, and act as a conduit to bring the gaming community closer together.”
