Retro FPS Project Warlock Is Super Rare Games’ Next Physical Release

It’s time to rock ‘n roll once again, as Super Rare Games has announced that Project Warlock will be getting the physical release treatment on Nintendo Switch.

Super Rare Games – a company dedicated to bringing the “very best physical content to the Nintendo Switch” – revealed today that it will be releasing the old-school first-person shooter on January 28 at 1pm Eastern Time, with the limited-amount of 4,000 copies total being released. The physical release package will come with all of the content you might expect from Super Rare Games, including a Nintendo Switch case and game cartridge, a full-color manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and three random trading cards from the five-card set. For completionists, trading card booster packs will also be available from the Super Rare Games store for an additional cost.

Project Warlock features 60 levels of non-stop action as you take on hordes of enemies and challenging bosses. The game is often compared with DOOM and Wolfenstein, so fans of those retro first-person shooters will want to be sure to check it out. You’ll have a plethora of weapons to choose from, while also catering your gameplay by assigning skill points however you wish, whether it be through weaponry, melee abilities, health, or speed.

When Project Warlock released last year on Xbox One, we gave it the glowing score of 4.5 out of 5 Stars in our review, applauding its gameplay, skill tree options, and overall chaotic nature, stating:

“This game shines and stands out from other games with significantly larger budgets and developer teams. Project Warlock is definitely worth a couple of thousand shots at demons and is as enjoyable on console as it was on PC.”

Due to the nature of its limited release, it’s in your best interest to order Project Warlock as soon as the sale goes live on January 28. While not every Super Rare Games release sells out right away, there is still a decent chance that you’ll miss out on one of the 4,000 copies if you wait too long.
