The Sniper Elite games have evolved over the years. Karl Fairburne has traveled all over the world, stopping the Nazi war machine with his sharpshooting skills. Sniper Elite 5 captures the essence of the previous entries, along with adding a few new elements.
The Secret Weapons mission is one of the best campaign quests that you can experience in Sniper Elite 5. Not only is there an interesting plot, but the landscape and buildings within the mission are quite expansive and a lot of fun to explore. Here's everything you'll need to complete every single objective in the Secret Weapons mission.
How To Start The Secret Weapons Mission
First, launch Sniper Elite 5, then choose Campaign once you load into the main menu. You can customize which mission you want to play on this screen, as well as the difficulty settings, among other things. If you don't want to have other players hunting you during the mission, then turn off the Axis Invasion setting, which allows other players to enter your mission to fight you.
Launch the mission and you'll watch a cutscene where Karl jumps onto a moving train and travels towards a giant complex. You'll spawn far away from any of the buildings and will need to slowly make your way toward them while sneaking around and defeating Nazi soldiers.
(Optional) Neutralize The Radio Tower
It's best to tackle this objective right after starting the Secret Weapons mission. Travel directly west of the starting location, and you'll encounter a bridge that connects to a building that looks like a tiny castle. If you head to the left of the bridge, you'll find a path that leads across a waterfall, to a campfire with two enemies that you can swiftly defeat using melee attacks or silenced weapons.
You can then pick up the Castle Tower Key by searching the soldier with the sniper rifle, then travel a bit further up this dirt road until you reach a small tower and zip line.
Use the zip line, and you'll land inside the castle, but there will be many soldiers waiting for you everywhere – both, in the courtyard and patrolling atop the castle's walls. However, there aren't any soldiers directly on top of the platform you'll be on after zip lining.
At the north-western part of the castle's interior is a door that you can use the Castle Tower Key to open. Use the railing as cover immediately after you ride the zip line into the castle, then slowly advance while defeating soldiers with melee attacks as you encounter them alone.
Once you get to the door and open it using the Castle Tower Key or a Satchel Charge, travel down the staircase, and you'll have a new objective. You can disable a panel on the right side of the room. You'll need a Crowbar for this objective, but you may not have one yet, since you're tackling this objective so early in the mission. There's one soldier behind this door, but he's atop the upper staircase, so you may not encounter him.
Luckily, there's a second way to complete this objective if you don't have a Crowbar. Using staircases and vines on the castle's walls, climb your way up one of the castle's fortified walls and shoot the two cables where the wire connects to the wall, on the northwest and northeast sides of the castle's top.
There's a staircase that leads to a group of vines on the northwestern side of the castle's courtyard. Take a right and continue walking after climbing the vines, and you'll encounter the first wire attached to the castle.
Next, walk through a northeastern door in the castle's courtyard, which visibly connects to the second wire. After walking through this doorway, you can shoot the wire from below, as it'll be above you. Take caution in both of these locations, as soldiers patrol around the area near the staircase and northeastern room.
There are soldiers patrolling the corridors and rooms toward the bottom and top of the castle, so take caution as you climb, and hide behind corners when necessary. Once you reach the top level of the castle and shoot down both wires, you can escape the castle and travel northeast.
(Optional) Kill List: Christian Jungers
Christian Jungers is northeast of the castle you just exited, at the location on the map above. Upon arriving at this location, you'll see a main entrance, and a door to the right of it. Christian Jungers and another enemy are near each other, so hide until they start walking away, and then follow Christian in through the door on the right.
You can kill Christian Jungers by melee attacking him while no other enemies are around, but you'll complete an extra objective if you kill him using the V2 Rocket.
After entering through the door, take a right and walk up the staircase. There are enemies patrolling on the bottom floor, so stay in stealth and try to avoid combat before heading up the stairs. After you reach the top, take a left and after a few meters, you'll see a balcony overlooking the bottom floor.
There's one enemy standing on the balcony, but his back should be turned as you approach, so defeat him using a melee attack from behind. Wait until Christian walks underneath the rocket overlooking the balcony, then take aim at the hook holding up the rocket, like in the picture above. If Christian doesn't walk underneath the rocket for any reason, then throw bottles under it to lure him over to it.
There's also a control panel that will drop the rocket without having to shoot the hook, which is on the platform above the V2 Rocket, but this method is more time-consuming. The rocket will fall on Christian, and you'll fulfill the bonus objective, completing this side quest.
Now that the optional objectives are out of the way, you can leave this building and travel north on the road to continue with your main mission.
Investigate Operation Kraken
If you just killed Christian Jungers, then you need to travel north to encounter yet another building. There are many roads leading toward this facility, but you can use grass and other objects to sneak past enemies along the way. Regardless of the path you choose, travel north to the location above.
Once you reach the entrance to the facility, you'll see a large hole that leads into the building. However, there are many defenses set up around the primary entrance, so you should instead sneak past the soldiers at the front, then take a right where you'll encounter a hill. Continue climbing until you reach a left turn.
Turn left and climb the hill further to find a vent that you can open to crawl into the laboratory without soldiers detecting you.
Now that you're inside the laboratory, travel down the first staircase into a tiny room. There's another staircase in here, so travel down it as well. You'll find a soldier next to the shelves at the bottom of this staircase, so defeat him with a melee attack from behind and continue through the next door. This room contains a safe and an exit into the facility's main room, but there's also a soldier patrolling here. Defeat him, then exit through the door in the front of the room.
After exiting this room, you can head right and walk down a staircase. There's one soldier who patrols the platform directly outside the room you exited. Take note of soldiers within the large room using your binoculars, but you can sneak past them without combat if you're careful. Sneak to the middle of the laboratory and climb up the skinny staircase on the southern side that leads to a circular room.
You'll see two soldiers talking to each other once you reach this room, and you can quickly kill them using a grenade. You can also lure one away from the other by throwing a bottle or whistling, then defeat them individually.
Either way, search the soldiers and then pick up the Thinking Outside The Box document from a table on the southeastern side of this room. The letter contains the safe combination, which unlocks the safe in the room that's underneath the vent you used to enter the complex.
Travel back down the tower and into the room that you came from. On the right side of this room is where you'll find a safe that you can now open since you have the combination. You'll find the War Room Key inside the safe, which opens the door that leads into the facility's war room. You can also open this safe with a Satchel Charge if you happen to already have one.
Exit this room and head northwest until you come across a staircase. Walk up the stairs, then keep moving along the right-hand side platform until you see a door that you can unlock with the War Room Key.
Depending on which enemies you've defeated so far, you may encounter patrolling soldiers on the platforms outside the War Room door, as well as inside the room you'll initially enter.
Enter through the door while crouching and use melee attacks to defeat any enemies you encounter within these hallways when they turn their backs to you. Keep traveling north through the hallway until you come across a door on the right side of the wall.
Upon entering this door, you can head straight for another door across from the first. This door eventually leads to the final room. There's a table inside this room, with a giant map on it.
Interacting with the table will play a cutscene, and then you'll have three remaining objectives that you can complete in any order you wish, but you should sabotage the fuel station first, since it's inside this facility. Exit this section of the complex through the door that you unlocked earlier to move on to your first objective, taking caution of soldiers who patrol the hallways.
Sabotage The V2 Refueling Site
Since the fuel station is inside the same building, it's best to finish the objective first. Leave the war room and exit the hallway through the door you unlocked earlier. You'll likely encounter a few enemies roaming the hallways, so stay alert and equip your secondary weapon for safety.
Enter the facility's main room, then move directly to the middle. There's a staircase under the circular room you visited earlier to get the safe combination. Move towards the middle of the room, using melee attacks or silenced weapons to defeat any patrolling soldiers.
Use the staircase to get to the fuel station, which is underground. You may encounter enemies patrolling at the bottom of the staircase, but it will vary since soldiers in this facility often move around.
After walking down the staircase and heading through at bottom, climb up a ladder to your left, and you'll reach a platform above you. Walk on the platform until a turning point, then take a left turn, and you'll find a valve you can interact with.
After interacting with the valve, travel back the way you came and climb up the ladder on the right side of the large staircase's door. Keep moving across the platform until you need to take a right turn. Then, you'll see a small set of stairs that you can walk down.
After walking down the stairs, you'll find a second valve to interact with. Now, walk back up the stairs and into a small room at the top. The fuel pump is inside this room, interact with it, then you'll finish this objective. Now exit this building by traveling south to the large opening, watching for and defeating any remaining enemies who patrol the bottom floor of the refueling station.
Sabotage The V2 Launch Site
Your next objective is to destroy the weapon on the V2 launch pad. There are a few enemies who patrol the road outside the refueling station, but you can throw bottles in the opposite direction to distract them long enough to sneak past, or pick them off from a distance using your rifle.
After exiting the refueling station, you'll see the rocket directly across from you, south of the facility. There's a large platform on the pad that you can climb up to using a ladder attached to a platform directly next to it.
There are two enemies guarding the pad and a soldier on top of the platform that's next to the rocket. You need to defeat the soldiers nearby using melee attacks, then search them. One of these enemies is an officer, and he carries the Production Plant Key, so it's essential that you get it by searching him.
After the two enemies are dead or incapacitated, climb the ladder and defeat the soldier on top of the platform. Once the soldier is dead, you can interact with the rocket to tamper with it. Now climb down the ladder and head north, which will take you toward two hangar doors.
Enemies patrol the roads nearby, so killing them with your rifle while you're on top of the platform is a good idea. Once you're outside the hangar doors, turn right, and you can climb up a ladder, which will lead to another ladder.
When you're at the top, you'll find a door that you can open using the Production Plant Key. As usual, a Satchel Charge also works here, but it's easier to use the key so that enemies won't hear the explosion. There's a lever that you can interact with to destroy the rocket; pull it, watch the cutscene, and you're done.
Sabotage The V2 Capsule Test
Climb down the ladder and travel west, which is where you'll encounter a two-story building on the waterfront. You can enter this lake-side building through a door at the top of a staircase on the northwestern side without being immediately detected. Lock pick the door and then enter the building.
You'll end up on a platform overlooking the bottom floor after entering the door. There are two enemies below you, so drop down using the ladder and kill them. After the enemies are dead or incapacitated, grab the I Can't Work Like This paper from a small table in front of the submarine.
Travel through the right-hand side door in the building and sneak around to the outside area. There are two new buildings and two enemies patrolling in this area. One is a scientist while the other is a soldier.
Upon defeating the enemies with stealth attacks and searching their bodies, you'll find the Armory Key. You can now open the armory through the door attached to the northern building.
Next, you need to aim your sniper rifle at the structure floating in the water across the lake, it'll have a quest marker on top of it. There's a square shape on this structure that you need to shoot near the middle of it, where your quest marker is pointing.
Head inside the nearby building where you killed the scientist. There's a panel with a lever on the right-hand side of the bottom floor, pull it, and you'll be done. You can now travel northwest to exfiltrate.
Once you complete every one of the objectives above, you can exfiltrate the area. There's a road on the north-western section of the map that you need to follow, then keep traveling down a long bridge until you come across it.
Turn right, and there's a small area you can interact with to exfiltrate. You will encounter enemies next to the train tracks, but you can use the trains that are on the bridge as cover to run past them instead.
