Sony giving PlayStation fans a closer look at the PS5 this weekend
The launch of PS5 is one the biggest gaming stories of the year, and we’re just over a month away from the next-gen PlayStation’s release date. Sony fans in Blighty will be getting the PS5 on November 19, a bit later than gamers in other regions such as the States who will see the PlayStation 5 launch on November 12. And ahead of the PS5 release date PlayStation fans have a date that they need to mark down in their diaries.
This weekend a number of popular Japanese YouTubers will be getting exclusive access to the PS5, and will be sharing their hands-on experience with the console.
As revealed in a post by Gematsu, as part of YouTube Gaming Week a number of creators will be posting videos about their first-hand experience with the PS5 very shortly.
The videos will be going live on Sunday October 4 from 6pm JST, which is 10am BST for gamers in the UK.
PlayStation fans will have to wait and see what content ends up appearing in these videos, but hopefully we’ll get more next-gen gameplay footage and maybe – just maybe – a first look at the PS5 UI.
Here are the YouTubers taking part in the ‘Try! PlayStation 5 on YouTube Gaming Week’ promo…

In other PS5 news, PlayStation fans are still trying to get hold of PS5 pre-orders ahead of the console’s November launch.
Retailers started taking PS5 pre-orders in September, but the initial batch of pre-orders were snapped up at lightning fast speeds.
Scalpers are now trying to flog PS5 pre-orders on eBay at exorbitantly high prices – and these listings are something we’d advise gamers to stay well clear off.
It’s unclear whether there will be any more PS5 pre-orders that become available ahead of the console’s launch.
According to Stock Informer, the last batch of PS5 pre-orders that became available was a stock drop that went live at Very last week.
And some PS5 fans who managed to get a pre-order in have been warned that they may not be getting the console at launch.
As we reported earlier this week, ShopTo is currently in the process of informing customers whether they will receive their PS5 consoles at launch.
Even if you were unsuccessful in securing a console for the November 19 release date, ShopTo believes things could change before launch.
An email sent to unsuccessful pre-order customers said: “We have received the allocation details from Sony and, unfortunately, we regret to inform you that we will not be able to fulfil your pre-order on day one/release date.”
After requesting that customers keep their pre-orders open, ShopTo has informed customers about what may happen next.
The e-mail added: “Sony may notify us of additional stock with extra allocation for day one and you have already reserved your place in the queue.”
