The Bind of Isaac’s Card Game Launches Kickstarter For Requiem Expansion

Earlier this year, The Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen announced his plans for the Four Souls card game’s first expansion, Requiem. The Kickstarter to fund that project is set to go live soon, in less than 12 hours, at 12am PT.

The Binding of Isaac’s card game pits players against each other in a fight to gather souls from four bosses. The original Four Souls card game launched its original Kickstarted endeavors back in June of 2018, raising over $2.6 million for the project. Fans of Isaac quickly sent the card game by its $50,000 goal in just a few hours.

Now, it looks like McMillen is looking to recreated that success with his latest Kickstarter efforts. In a new teaser, the Requiem video promises a “giant expansion,” with reprints of old cards in a new, collectible box. Fans of Isaac will also be able to pick up new goodies from the game, and limited edition cards from other artists and games.

The Requiem card game celebrates ten years of The Binding of Isaac. The roguelike originally launched back on Steam in 2011, and later received console ports in the for of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. The indie’s fanbase, as evident by its Kickstarters, still has quite a dedicated fanbase all these years later, as just last month modders discovered a hidden co-op mode in the Repentance DLC.

The Repentance DLC dropped earlier this year, marking the last update for the beloved roguelike. The final DLC was touted as being much “bigger than Rebirth was to the OG flash game.”
