This PlayStation loophole lets you download and play 700 games for free

PlayStation owners might only be 8 days into the start of the new month, but on the off chance you splurged like nobodies business on payday, don't worry, we've got some free games that should help you through the weekend.

For those who don't know Sony's PS4 has a great feature called PlayStation Now. It's a streaming subscription service that's a bit like PlayStation's equivalent of Netflix.

Ther service has been available for years, but Sony hasn't done a great job of advertising it, that is, until recently when they suddenly dropped the price perhaps in an effort to show they were competing with Xbox Xcloud and Google Stadia.

As you'd imagine, there's a subscription cost. But likewise, there are also free trial periods. Now you might be thinking 'But I've already had a free trial before'.

Ahhh, but did you know that Sony effectively hit the reset button in January? We didn't, until now. As Sony explains:

"We reset the trial on 16th January, so even if you’ve tried PS Now before, you’re now eligable to another seven-day trial (excludes current PS Now subscribers)."

Earlier this week, Sony confirmed they added another three games to the huge library of 700+ games already available. We don't have the time and page length to tell you all 700 games available, but with so many PS4, PS3, and PS2 games to choose from, you won't be short on something to play.

As for those new games, Sony just added The Evil Within, LEGO Worlds, and Cities: Skylines. Keen to know more about them? Sony's pulled together a full blog

It's also worth reminding anyone thinking of signing up that PlayStation also added some absolutely amazing games in January.

Currently, you can download or stream the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

That's two quality 80+ Metacritic rated PS4 exclusives you could be playing without paying a single penny.
