Titanfall 2 Maps Reportedly Discovered In Apex Legends Datamine

The notorious dataminer known on Twitter as KralRindo recently discovered nine maps from the massively underappreciated Titanfall 2 in the game files for Apex Legends following the latest patch. When players will have access to these remains unclear, but should they ever be added to Apex Legends, the additions would represent one of the biggest ever content drops for the wildly popular battle royale game. Apex Legends came out on February 4, 2019.

“With the last patch, Capture Point locations were added for another upcoming game mode,” KralRindo tweeted. “They also added a lot of new maps for this LTM.” KralRindo went on to list the new files, adding that “for people who don't know, these are Titanfall 2 maps.”

The news was first spotted by the publication Insider Gaming. The upcoming addition of these maps to the game has not yet been confirmed by the developer, Respawn Entertainment. The maps are however rumored to be a part of the Apex Legends Capture Point LTM.

The maps in question are among the best and most highly acclaimed ever made for Titanfall 2. In total, these consist of Exoplanet, Homestead, Angel City, Black Water Canal, Boneyard, Crash Site, Rise, Eden, and Colony. These are not expected to be directly ported into Apex Legends on account of several gameplay mechanics found only in Titanfall 2, most notably wall running.

Titanfall 2 came out to rave reviews from both critics and players, but the game failed to live up to the expectations of its publisher, Electronic Arts. According to the Head of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella, "the game was successful, it sold well, but it didn't quite sell as well as it should have.” The developer later explained that “maybe because it was super crowded, the pricing was aggressive, it was a rough window to launch our game." Titanfall 2 launched alongside Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
