Vertigo Games Detail DLC Roadmap for Arizona Sunshine on Oculus Quest
Later today sees Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive launch a dedicated version of Arizona Sunshine for Oculus Quest. The title has been specially rebuilt for the standalone headset whilst retaining the features that have made the videogame so popular. Adding to the launch the developers have revealed the DLC roadmap, offering both free content and paid DLC.
As you can see in the image above, Vertigo Games plans on releasing five DLC packages over the next few months. The first to arrive by the end of the year is the free Two-Handed Weapons Update, adding an assortment of rifles, assault rifles and sub-machine guns to play with. The next two free updates will be for the multiplayer Horde mode, adding the Old Mine level in January and the Undead Valley level in February.
The final two will be the big DLC drops, Dead Man and The Damned. Both will be paid DLC but they will support cross-buy on the Oculus platform. so if you’ve already got the Oculus Rift version of the DLC then no need to pay again. The Dead Man DLC is a prequel to the core Arizona Sunshine storyline, where you play a Special Forces soldier trying to get a nuclear missile launched in a desperate attempt to halt the spread of zombies. The Damned DLC goes back even further, where you’re tasked with reactivating the generators of a massive Arizonan hydroelectric dam.
“We are very proud of what our team has accomplished from a technical perspective to bring Arizona Sunshine over to the Quest platform in a way that does the game and our new players on Quest justice,” says Vertigo Games Studio Director Richard Stitselaar. “We have pushed ourselves and the boundaries of VR over the past years and will continue to do so in 2020, with additional Arizona Sunshine content making its way to Oculus Quest. It will be a very exciting year for Vertigo Games with a lot to look forward to, including our all-new VR action FPS After the Fall.”
Vertigo Games has previously released footage of Arizona Sunshine on Oculus Quest and confirmed there won’t be any cross-buy support for the core videogame. For further updates, keep reading VRFocus.
