Warzone Player Killed By Invincible Pugilist

Thanks to a bizarre hack that lets players ride around on flying boats, we know that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has a hacker problem. At least on PC, where it seems that the phone registration requirement has done little to discourage hackers in Warzone. Case in point, this video footage of a Redditor getting bowled over by an invincible punching maniac.

Redditor DukeNukedEmm asked, "What should we call this perk?" In the attached video footage, Duke fires an entire clip at an opponent that charges straight at them, not even bothering to dodge. More than 30 bullets later, the invincible opponent manages to punch DukeNukedEmm, celebrating on the open voice chat their alleged victory.

"That's bullshit," comments Duke, and fair enough. It honestly seemed like that invincible pugilist should have died several times over. Worse still, they're celebrating an obviously ill-gotten win. While Warzone fans joke in the comments that lag, recoil, and interrupted connection resulted in this situation, the likeliest explanation is that this guy was just flat-out hacking.

It's still too early to determine the extent of the hacking problem in Warzone 2, but if it was anything like Warzone 1, it's still a huge problem. It's likely going to be a while before it's directly addressed as Activision gathers data, so players are just going to have to tough it out for now.

If you'd prefer to go back to the old Warzone, it's back in a stripped-down form. Called Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera, the game no longer has Rebirth Island or Fortune's Keep as playable maps, instead limiting players to the titular Caldera. It also only offers solos and quads as playable modes, and there's no rotation of limited-time modes. There's also no in-game store, but you can still transfer Call of Duty points to Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2 if you want.
