If you have an Xbox Live Gold subscription and want to play something new this weekend, you have plenty of choices.

For both Xbox One and Xbox Series X, Microsoft has you covered, offering up three-game trials at no extra charge.

On top of the recently released Darksiders 3 launch, the tech giant is also offering a free weekend of game time.

So alongside Darksiders and Yooka-Laylee being available to download, gamers can also play Battlefield 4, Neon Abyss and AO Tennis 2.

The good news is that these new titles won’t cost anything extra to download and play, but do come with a time limit, which runs out at around 8am BST on August 16.

These are just the latest games to be given free trials on the Xbox Live Network, with more expected over the coming months.

And these aren’t the only free game trials worth a look this week, as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers have other options.

If you are a member of the top tier XGP service, you can also check Madden 22 as part of your subscription.

The Trial only lasts ten hours and you need to have an EA account set up so you can access the game.

But it’s a great bonus to have and one to know about if you do have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

A message from EA explains: “Football season starts early this year for EA Play members. Get on the field first with a 10-hour trial of Madden NFL 22 eight days before launch.

Xbox reveal the upcoming Series X console

“Or if you’re an EA Play Pro member you can play the full Dynasty Edition starting August 12. Both membership levels include unique, limited-time Ultimate Team Challenges, a Launch Welcome Pack, recurring monthly rewards, and more.”

And if Madden 22 or any of the other free games aren’t your thing, it won’t be long before the new Games with Gold titles arrive.

Microsoft is scheduled to refresh its lineup of free games via the Xbox Live network on August 16, bringing these new options to Xbox One and Xbox Series X:

Yooka & Laylee lets you explore huge, beautiful worlds and meet an unforgettable cast of characters as part of the buddy duo of Yooka & Laylee.

Embark on an epic quest to thwart the corporate villain, Capital B, and his devious scheme to absorb all of the world’s literature.

Garou Mark of the Wolves is the last entry of the Fatal Fury series, and includes a dozen different fighters to participate in the King of Fighters: Maximum Mayhem tournament. Featuring the T.O.P. fighting system, and a defense and counter mechanic, prove to your opponent that legends don’t die…they get better.
