Xbox Live WARNING: Fans can download new free Xbox One games NOW

Xbox One free games to play this weekend include not just one, but four options, courtesy of Microsoft.

To enjoy any of them, you will need an Xbox Live Gold membership and then enough free time to download the latest Free Play Days promotions.

These are only available for a certain length of time, but they do offer the full game experience, apart from one, which is more of a demo test.

It won’t cost you anything to download and play this weekend’s new Xbox One selection, with a number of specially selected titles to pick from

The latest free Xbox One games available via Xbox Live includes the Gears 5 Tech Test, Overwatch, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, and Worms W.M.D.

The four new Xbox One game experiences will remain free to play for Gold members until Sunday, July 28 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.

So for UK gamers, this will mean having access until around 8am on Monday, July 29.

Here’s some more information about the new Gears 5 Tech Test, which reveals: “Multiplayer fans of all types can enjoy this weekend test session, as you’ll get to play Escalation (our updated competitive game type) along with Arcade (a new and approachable multiplayer game type) and a longtime fan favourite: King of the Hill.

“For players new to Gears or those that want to practice their skills and learn new mechanics we’ve added our new training mode – Bootcamp. The Tech Test also features a short Tour of Duty, which is a series of challenges for players to earn content – completing all these challenges unlocks an exclusive Tech Test Banner.

“Players can also unlock three Versus Weapon Skins by completing some additional challenges. This is your last chance to be among the first to play Gears 5, so jump in now!”

Microsoft’s Major Nelson revealed the news earlier this week in a blog post, along with how much each title has been discounted.

This doesn’t include the Gears 5 tech test, as this is just a demo experience for Xbox One gamers.

Meanwhile, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, Overwatch and Worms are all available to buy at lower prices than usual, going as high as 75% off.

Each game has its own hard drive space requirements, with Overwatch needing the most at just under 30GB.

This is followed by Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker at 20GB and Worms at under 10GB.

Overwatch is regularly updated with new content from Blizzard and will soon see the launch of its 31st hero, Sigma.

Shinobi Striker is another free download this weekend, but it comes with a warning when it comes to the other trial version available on the Microsoft Store.

“Users who have the save data of the Trial Version are able to play the full game during the Xbox Free Play Days (July 25th – 28th, 2019),” the developer message reads.

“However, after Xbox Free Play Days ends, users must purchase the full game in order to continue playing on that specific save file.

“Please note that if you participate in Xbox Free Play Days but want to continue playing the Trial Version afterwards, you must delete your save data and start a new save file.”

If none of these new options interest you then you can always head over to the Games with Gold page and download Inside or Big Crown: Showdown on Xbox One.
