Xbox Series X|S Are The Official Consoles Of Battlefield 2042

EA and DICE have announced several official partners for Battlefield 2042, with Xbox Series X|S named the “official consoles” of the upcoming shooter. EA is yet to announce how this will impact content releases post-launch, but rest assured this does not mean Battlefield 2042 is an Xbox exclusive.

Xbox and EA didn’t provide any specifics on how the official partnership will play out, only saying that it will help ensure Battlefield 2042 is the best entry in the franchise. Whether this means timed exclusivity for DLC or console-specific content is unknown – but it sounds like Xbox Series X|S owners have a lot to be excited about.

Beyond the Xbox partnership, Battlefield 2042 will have plenty of other official partners. Here’s what was revealed today:

  • Graphics Platform Partner – Nvidia: This collaboration “ensures the ultimate PC experience” thanks to DLSS and Nvidia Reflex’s low latency mode.
  • PC Peripherals Partner – Logitech: Lightsync technology and peripherals from Logitech will be optimized for use with Battlefield 2042.
  • Off-Road Vehicle Partner – Polaris: You’ll be able to “operate authentic Polaris vehicles in Battlefield 2042,” including the Polaris Sportsman ATV.
  • Gaming Storage Partner – WD_Black: Not much was announced on this front, other than the two companies will work together to “ensure Battlefield 2042 gamers have the best possible gaming experience.”

Expect to learn more about Battlefield 2042 during EA Play Live on July 22, including a new game type that should be familiar to long-time fans.

It’s been quite a while since we’ve had a new Battlefield experience, but it looks like EA and DICE are going all out with the next installment. Massive 128-player battles, destructive weather patterns are just the beginning, and it’ll be exciting to learn more about the FPS in the months leading up to launch.

Battlefield 2042 is scheduled to launch on October 22.
