Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer gets a free weekend starting April 24

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting a free weekend from April 24-27, according to the official Call of Duty Twitter account. Starting Friday, players can download the game and play multiplayer online for free until the trial is up. However, free players will only have access to five of the game’s multiplayer maps.

Call of Duty: Warzone players can access the free multiplayer in the already free-to-play Warzone client. Aside from the map restrictions, players will be able to engage in all of Modern Warfare’s customization and leveling.

To download Call of Duty: Warzone — and thus the game client you need for Modern Warfare’s free weekend — you need to launch the app on your PC, or visit the the respective store on Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Search for Warzone, or select the game on the sidebar, and start your download.

To download the Warzone client, you’ll need between 80-101 GB of free space.
