Destiny 2 is down for 24 hours pre-Shadowkeep

With Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and Destiny’s first free-to-play play offering, New Light, only a day away, Bungie is taking Destiny 2 down for 24 hours on Monday, Sept. 30. Starting at the normal reset time, 1 p.m. EDT, Destiny 2 will go down. The game will return on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at reset — re-launching alongside the two new releases.

If you’re trying to log into Destiny 2 today, you’re probably bumping into the “Destiny 2 servers are not available” warning. Don’t panic. There’s nothing wrong with your install. It’s just a warning that the game is down for maintenance, and will return Tuesday with Shadowkeep’s launch.

With the maintenance comes the last time PC players will be able to play Destiny 2 on Blizzard’s Battle.net client. Starting on Tuesday, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and New Light will only be available on Steam for PC players. Players can migrate their PC data to Steam via Bungie’s website.
