Katamari Damacy creator’s next game, Wattam, arrives this December
Wattam, the next game from Katamari Damacy and Noby Noby Boy creator Keita Takahashi, is coming to PlayStation 4 this December, Sony and publisher Annapurna Interactive revealed during its State of Play livestream presentation today.
In Wattam, players will control a variety of objects, from the green, cube-shaped mayor to cheerful flowers to smiling toilets and even a variety of multicolored, just-happy-to-be-here poo swirls. Some of those living objects will ask you do them favors, but sometimes you just link hands and do a little dance with your anthropomorphic pals. Players can make friends and reconnect objects in the world, resulting in big, confetti-spraying explosions of joy.
We’ve played Wattam a few times, and it lives up to its official description of being a game “about the joys of friendship and discovery.” You can watch a new trailer filled with la-las and giggles above.
Developer Funomena first unveiled Wattam back in 2015, and the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC game was, at one point, slated for release in 2018.
