Remnant: From the Ashes gets a new, free game mode in latest patch
Remnant: From the Ashes has been quietly picking up a large player base since its launch on Aug. 20. The title manages to mix quick shooter controls with Dark Souls-style combat, which is no mean feat. And now developer Gunfire Games has put out a free patch that includes an Adventure Mode.

Adventure mode puts a new spin on the game by allowing players to re-roll the worlds they travel through. Want to shake things up? A group can play through dynamically generated versions of Earth, Rhom, and Yaesha. The patch notes explain Adventure Mode with a developer comment, reading:
DEVELOPER COMMENT: Introducing Adventure Mode – A new game mode that allows players to re-roll individual worlds. You and your party can embark on an adventure through dynamically generated Earth, Rhom, and Yaesha, beginning at a single World Stone and ending once you’ve defeated their World Boss. Dungeon locations, points of interest, enemy spawns, and more may be different than what you’ve come to expect from the main campaign. Activated from the World Stone in Ward 13, simply choose “World Settings” and select the “Adventure Mode” option to pick the world you would like to roll. This will not replace your campaign progress and can be re-rolled freely without affecting your story. Any items found or traits gained along the way will be kept by your character. More content, including Corsus, will be added in the future!
The patch also contains a host of bug fixes and minor graphics updates, and more content is on the way. On Sept. 19, a new quest line will be added to the game called Leto’s Lab. The titular Leto has been meddling with the fast travel mechanics and world stones, and as outlandish experiments tend to do, the whole thing has blown up in his face. Players will be tasked with sorting that mess out.
There’s one more exciting change in the patch notes:
Wasteland Goodboy has been buffed from Goodboy to Very Goodboy
DEVELOPER COMMENT: I mean, he is a very goodboy.
I can’t argue with that logic.
