Amazon Prime Day Early Deals: Echo Dot, Fire TV, And More

Over the weekend, Amazon finally revealed that Prime Day 2020 will kick off on October 13. The 48-hour deals bonanza for Prime members had been delayed multiple times this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. With only a few weeks to go until Amazon Prime Day 2020 officially begins, the company is building hype with a batch of early Prime Day 2020 deals to help you start saving right now. The most notable discounts can be found on Amazon devices and smart TVs.

Amazon’s tiny smart speaker, the Echo Dot, is a steal right now. You can get a 2-pack for $40 with promo code DOTPRIME2PK. Since one Echo Dot normally costs $50, you’re saving a ton of money here. It’s important to note that this deal only applies to the third-generation Echo Dot–not the new spherical Echo Dot Amazon revealed last week. Still, Echo Dot changes are incremental from generation to generation, so if you’re looking to get some affordable smart speakers with Alexa voice assistant, the third-generation Echo Dot will do just fine.

The normally quite pricey Fire TV Recast is on sale for $130, down from $230. The Recast is an over-the-air DVR that is compatible with Fire TV, Echo Show, and mobile devices. You can record up to two live programs at one time, and it stores up to 75 hours of content on its 500GB hard drive.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly smart TV, the Toshiba 43-inch Fire TV is discounted to $180, down from $280. This 1080p TV is equipped with Fire TV out of the box, so you’ll have access to thousands of streaming apps, including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and, of course, Prime Video.

Kindle Unlimited is $30 for six months, which is a 50% discount on the $10/month plan. Meanwhile, Amazon Music Unlimited is only $1 for four months.
